Who We Are
Born in California, raised in Oregon. We are a family business devoted to supporting local families and businesses.
We are accountants, bookkeepers, financial planners and tax consultants. We pride ourselves on a team-oriented approach to our projects, and the flexible work environment provided to our staff. Team members are encouraged to pursue their own areas of interest within the firm, resulting in a wide array talents. From small payrolls to management advisory services, we seek to have the expertise where it is needed. When we aren’t working, our staff members enjoy being involved locals. We are working parents, Big Four alumni, high school sports coaches, marathon runners, child care advocates, animal shelter volunteers, chamber of commerce members, bike path cleanup crews, theater enthusiasts, orchestra musicians, foodies, amateur photographers and nature buffs. We are as varied and unique as the individuals and businesses we serve, helping us to connect with our clients on different levels.
“Show me a family of readers, and I will show you the people who move the world”

Lindsay never thought she would become an accountant. Although her father, Neil Byzick, has always recognized and nurtured her knack for numbers, her career path only became clear after she completed a retail internship in pursuit of a Bachelor’s in Business Management and realized it was not the right fit. Instead, she found that accounting wasn’t just in her blood -it was in her heart. Lindsay stayed at Oregon State University an extra year to complete a second bachelor’s degree in Accounting. After working in the audit practice at KPMG Portland, she made the transition to tax. This allowed for more time to raise her children (three boys and one girl), and develop a more personal connection to her clients. Passionate that building relationships is paramount to driving success, Lindsay is most proud of the family-friendly atmosphere at Byzick and Company. In her free time (ha!) Lindsay enjoys family bike rides, traveling, camping, baking and cheering on her kids’ sports teams.

With degrees in both Accounting and Finance from Oregon State University, he began his career as a CPA in the Business Tax Services practice at KPMG before joining Byzick and Company in 2017. He enjoys working directly with individuals and small businesses to help solve their tax and financial puzzles.

Jeff has a Masters in Counseling and started his career as a counselor, working with adolescents at a treatment facility. After a fulfilling 10-year journey in the field, he transitioned into management of the family business. It has been an incredible experience, and he takes great pleasure in working with our clients and supporting our team's growth. When he’s not working, you'll find him enjoying time with his lovely wife and their four kids. They love camping, trips to the beach, and playing various sports. He especially loves being on the field coaching alongside his kids.

Joelle joined Byzick and Company in 2022 as Administrative Manager for our Hillsboro office, bringing more than eight years of experience in accounting and administrative fields. She truly enjoys working with clients the most. “I seek to develop meaningful relationships by getting to know clients as people, not just a number,” Joelle says. An avid traveler, Joelle recently spent five weeks in Europe for a trip of a lifetime exploring places like Iceland, London, Venice and Florence. As an Oregon native, she loves the outdoors and discovering all of the beautiful places in the Pacific Northwest. “I’m beyond grateful to work with a dedicated team who truly cares about clients. The down-to-earth, professional culture, and strong emphasis of having a work-life balance makes coming to work something I look forward to every day.”

Katy graduated from Oregon State University with a double major in accounting and finance. Having been through Byzick and Company’s tax internship, it was clear her talents were suited to the tax profession. She has her hand in many pots, including individual tax returns, payroll, and bookkeeping. In her free time, Katy enjoys watching detective shows, like Bones and Psych, and reading fantasy/sci-fi books on her Kindle.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Portland (Go Pilots!), Annael began her career in KPMG Portland's audit practice. After five years in public accounting, she joined the Byzick and Company team. Coming from an entrepreneurial family, Annael’s passion lies in helping small business owners develop strategic tax plans and in supporting individuals in achieving self-defined success through financial literacy. Annael loves seeing that Byzick’s clients are the business owners and families who make Portland home, and is always excited to build new relationships and help each client work toward their personal goals. When she isn’t in the office, you can find Annael hiking with her dog, traveling to explore a new place, hitting the gym, or learning something new via the latest Netflix documentary.

Alex settled in Corvallis in 2011, drawn to its warm community and immediate access to special places outdoors. While unsuited to be a pure accountant (his words), he does revel in tax strategy and otherwise balances administrative, technical, and quality assurance roles. When not in office, he is likely brewing a cup of coffee, petting a cat, taking pictures, riding a bicycle, and seeking magic moments in the High Sierra.

Amy is an Enrolled Agent and Licensed Tax Preparer. She cares about doing each tax return as if it was her own. Having come from Oregon’s largest Medicare insurance company, she saw firsthand how retirees' ability to find favorable health outcomes was frequently tied to their financial savviness and resourcefulness in figuring out governmental and health system procedures. When not at work, Amy enjoys cooking, yardwork, and hanging out with family and friends.
